Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)

At long last, of the capstone to what I’m sure will soon be marketed to us as “Michael Bay’s Transformer’s Trilogy.” Though one of my esteemed colleagues, the Movie Preview Critic, found a much better way of putting it: “The Transformers movie times three.”

  1. Thank you once again for your video review of a Michael Bay movie. I am one of those weak souls who will watch a lousy movie for the ridiculously expensive special effects. With each of your reviews you have eliminated another film that might have tempted me. I get to see some of the effects sequences, get to be amused by your commentary and I save two hours of my life for more internet surfing.

    1. You’re quite welcome, fellow David, as always. Even though the movie’s two and a half hours long, I try to factor for all the time lost to processing the trauma of those two and a half hours. Multiply by all the people I can successfully warn away from Bay’s crap and who knows? Maybe humanity will get those faster-than-light starships running by the end of this century.

  2. I actually like Bay’s Transformers movies, but I go in knowing not to expect top-notch acting or any kind of subtext. I have discovered a trick to the Transformers movies. Each one is at least a half-hour too long. If you watch each of them in two sessions, you don’t get that draggy sensation that they normally have.
